This is a Saturday project, so those of you who work during the week have
an opportunity to volunteer! Morning temps should be nice and cool up at
10,000 ft. The Sandia Nordic Ski Trails Project is a combined effort with
the two organizations. See details below, and respond directly to Jeff.

BTW, Sandia Nordic has gifted FOSM an electric chainsaw with two batteries
and a charger for our help on these Nordic Ski Trails.
This will be useful after 10 AM when we are in Stage II fire
restrictions(which got lifted today)!
Thank you Sandia Nordic!

Hello all,

This Saturday July 10 we will have a ski trail work day to clear two small
sections of reroutes just above the upper 10K meadow. This will be the
last of the corridor clearing for the ski trails trails with the exception
of one tricky reroute on south section of Klaus which is yet to be flagged.
We will meet Saturday at 0830 at the 10K South trailhead parking and hike
up from there to clear brush a few stumps and small saplings in reroutes
previously flagged by Kerry Wood and plan on finishing around 1200. While
it looks to be hot in town, up above 10K and mostly in shade should be
nice conditions. Please RSVP to me and let me know if you need a hardhat.
Hand saws, loppers and picks should get the job done so bring those if you
have them and we will have a few extra as well. The SRD PPE requirements
are always in effect for trail work days. PPE guidelines set by the Forest
Service *require everyone to wear hardhats, glasses or other protective
eyewear, long-sleeved shirts (for cutting and clearing work), long pants,
closed toe shoes or boots (not running shoes) and work gloves.*

Hope you can make it.

Regards

Jeff
