Hello Everyone:

Yesterday, Monday, November 8, 2021, the FOSM Trails Maintenance Crew hiked 10K South and Tree Spring trails to remove two previously reported fallen trees and to do any other work as needed. By day's end, in addition to the two reported trees (a dead 16 1/2 inch diameter fir and a 10 inch diameter Aspen) 8 additional trees ranging in size from 3 to 13 inches in diameter were removed. These additional trees were either hung up, leaning or were in other situations that could pose a hazard to trail users. It is always the practice of our crew to evaluate these types of trees and to remove them if it is deemed appropriate. These trails/trail sections are now clear.

As usual there was other routine trail maintenance done such as brushing, trimming back protruding branches and similar tasks. It was yet another excellent day for a hike in the Sandias with a cool morning and a pleasantly warm afternoon.

Yesterday's crew consisted of David McCreery, Byron Garner, Sim Cook, Rav Nicholson, Silke Bletzer, Jamey Browning, Ken Nicholson, Phillip Cromer and Bob Lowder.

Please see attached Word document for phots and additional narrative. All photos by Jamey Browning and Bob Lowder.

Thanks,

Bob L.
