[Volunteers_fosm] Trail work report for Thursday, October 27

Hello FOSM friends,
Yesterday the trail construction crew and a couple SRD trails folks headed back to the Challenge Trail extension near the old Crest Road. We were pleasantly surprised by less wind than forecasted, but also surprised by a late morning snow squall (though one crew member had commented, "It's getting awfully dark..."). With wet snow accumulating quickly, and a slick masticated hill to navigate on the way out, we opted to retreat with our tools at lunchtime. Maneuvering vehicles down some steep muddy turns as we returned to the Crest highway left us well-satisfied with our decision.
But we made some good progress before the snow started. Read on...
