Subject: [NMCCSC] Downed Trees on Switchback Trail in Sandias
To: NMCCSCeGroup SWCP <NMCCSCeGroup at mailman.swcp.com>
Sorry, don't have pictures or dimensions but there's definitely some work
for Friends of the Sandias if someone can alert them if they don't already
know.
Wanted the club to be aware also if planning to go up to ski there.
Conditions were very good today but trail was pretty packed down and
starting to stick in sunny spots by 11:30 so bring your Maxi-Glide!
Downed trees as follows:
Near the beginning of Switchback off Ellis Service Road, on the flat
section, is a narrow log to ski or step over.
Lower Switchback has 2 large trees blocking trail, just starting above the
intersection where trail splits going towards Survey Trail. But there were
tracks routing around them.
Upper Switchback also has 2 large trees blocking trail but can be skied
below it. There is also a separate medium size log half buried in trail to
step over.
Terri
