 Hello Everyone:

Today, Monday, May 13, 2024, the FOSM Trail Maintenance Crew hiked Tecolote trail to do regular Spring maintenance. (Tecolote is one of the trails adopted by FOSM.) Work consisted of trimming back encroaching shrub, removal of branches leaning into headspace along the trail and some minor tread work, including cleaning out a rolling dip and building another to divert water away from the trail to reduce erosion. Loppers, hedge trimmers, folding saws and other hand tools were used for this work.
The trail is in fine shape. It provides a pleasant hiking experience (about 2.3 miles round-trip) and features a spectacular 360 degree panorama of the Sandias and East Mountain area from the loop trail at the top.

Attached photo was taken at the beginning of the loop trail at the top. Crew members, left to right; Sim Cook, Byron Garner, Susan Gregory, Rav Nicholson and Bill Perkins. Not pictured - Bob Lowder

Thanks,

Bob L.
