Hello Everyone,
On Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the request of Canyon Young, SRD Trails and Wilderness Program Manager, the FOSM project will be limbing and bucking large trees on the ground at the first highway switchback below Ellis TH. We will park on the low side of the highway just above the switchback. We will also be removing logs from the nearby SNSC trail. We will scatter the limbs and bucked rounds.
Scott Dietrich was recently certified there as a B feller. He will work with us and help find the logs.
Meet at 8 am at the FOSM Guard Station behind the ranger station. Wear boots with slip-resistant soles, long pants, and a long-sleeved shirt. Bring a hard hat, eye and ear protection, work gloves, lunch, snacks, and drinks.
This project will be an opportunity for less experienced sawyers to limb, buck, and possibly fell a few trees.
