Hello FOSM Members,
The MAJOR FOSM PROJECT to build a new buck and rail fence in Kiwanis Meadow will be in June working with the TTYL (Talking Talons Youth Leadership) crew of young people.
The project leaders are Joelle Hertel and Sam Beard working with Canyon Young, SRD Trails and Wilderness Program Manager, and other SRD employees.
FOSM has spent about $13,000 for the pressure-treated wood materials for the fence.
The schedule for the project is:
1.
Move old fence materials from Kiwanis Meadow on Wednesday, May 28, after the split wood at the Snow Play Area has been loaded on Mike Oliver's trailer.
2.
New fence pressure-treated materials will be delivered to the SRD Boneyard about the end of the last week in May.
3.
On June 3, construction of the fence begins with assembly of bucks in the boneyard by TTYL crew and load material onto SRD trailer.
4.
June 4, Wednesday, will be delivery of materials (bucks and rails) to the Kiwanis Meadow site and start actual construction of the fence in the field. Manny or Canyon will drive the pickup to pull the trailer.
5.
The project for the FOSM Wednesday crew on June 4 will be helping build the fence. FOSM volunteers are welcome on any of the following dates — June 9, 10, and 11, and June 16, 17, and 18.
6.
On June 9, 10, and 11, the TTYL crew will be building the fence in the field.
7.
We will likely need the TTYL crew on June 16, 17, and 18 to complete construction of the fence.
8.
Joelle and I hope that FOSM members will also help construct the fence in Kiwanis Meadow.
Each day of the construction project, FOSM members will meet at the FOSM Guard Station at 8 am before going up to work with the TTYL crew constructing the fence.
Please email me if you have questions.
