[Volunteers_fosm] FOSM Project to cut Capulin Snow Play Area traffic island brush, Wed, , Oct. 8

Hello Everyone,

On Wednesday, October 8, the FOSM project will be cutting brush in the Capulin Snow Play Area traffic island so that the USFS will have room to push snow when they plow the parking lot.

We have two years of brush growth, because last fall snow fell before we cut the brush there. Toward the north end of the island, the brush is especially large. We will be cutting with small chain saws, power brush cutters, power hedge clippers, and manual loppers. In the area with large brush, we may need a swamper to move the cut brush away from the sawyer. We will pile cut brush on the pavement for the USFS to move or chip.

Meet at 8 am at the FOSM Guard Station behind the ranger station.

Wear or bring long pants, long sleeve shirt, hiking boots, hard hat, work gloves, warm jacket, lunch, drinks, snacks, and eye and ear protection.

We especially need a large number of volunteers for this project.
