Hello Everyone,
At the request of Canyon Young, SRD Trails and Wilderness Program Manager, FOSM volunteers will be limbing and bucking donation wood in the area between the upper Crest Highway and the new chain link around the Electronics Site at the Crest.
Lou Romero and I hiked over the area on Saturday morning and found that the USFS had recently felled hazard trees here and bucked some of the trees on the ground. Processing all the down wood here will require many FOSM workdays with chain saws.
On Wednesday, we will also move the bucked wood down to the highway and load it on Mike Oliver's trailer. Most of the wood on the ground is small enough to handle without being split.
Meet at the FOSM Guard Station at 8 am on Wednesday, Oct. 1.
Wear or bring long pants, a long sleeve shirt, hiking boots, a warm jacket, lunch, drinks, snacks, work gloves, a hard hat, and ear and eye protection.
