[Volunteers_fosm] National Trails Day project on Sandia Ranger District

Canyon Young, Trails and Wilderness Program Manager, sent the following email about the National Trails Day project on the Sandia Ranger District on Tuesday, June 9.

Hey everyone,

I have registered Sandia's National Trails Day event for Tues, June 9th - the event will be continuing work on the Cave reroute of the North Faulty. I was originally going to do it on Sat the 6th (proper Nat Trails Day); however, with some folks on leave or otherwise unavailable, I wanted to ensure there would be sufficient experienced coverage for a potential larger turnout. I also didn't want the Tuesday FOSM/PATA/NMVFO crew to feel any pressure to show up for an extra workday that week, as they are already doing enough for us.

The plan is to meet at the Sandia Cave parking lot at 8:00 am on 6/9 and to continue the crew's excellent progress in treading the reroute (about a mile above the parking lot). Sandia Trails' volunteer trailer (full of tools) will be there in the event that members of the public show up and need outfitting. Feel free to spread the word - this is what National Trails Day is for.

SO and RO folks, feel free to show up, if you're interested and available, but no pressure!
