Note that Eric Russell is leading this session: russells@swcp.com New time 0830.

PROJECT DETAILS: Weather and trail conditions permitting, the Friends of the Sandia Mountains (FOSM) will work on a section of the Cienega Trail for the Sandia Ranger District. The project is to continue the planned reroutes on the Cienega, The task will primarily be cutting trail tread and opening a section that we have nearly completed. We will be accessing the work site from a location with limited parking. The hike in is about half a mile. IF you elect to leave the project early, you'll have to hike out to your vehicle on your own. If you are unfamiliar with the area, I do not recommend hiking out before we end the work session. So we can plan for enough tools and hard hats, please let me know by email or text 1) IF you plan to participate, 2) IF you will need a hard hat, and 3) IF you have any questions. START TIME: Meet at the FOSM shed behind the Sandia Ranger District (SRD) on Thursday 4/11/19 ready to go at *** 0830 ***. Bring your lunch, snacks, liquids, and sunscreen. Dress in layers to accommodate varying temperatures. We will work until 1400. REQUIRED ATTIRE: The standard USFS trail work PPE requirements apply: approved hard hat, eye protection, no open-toed shoes, work gloves, and long pants (no shorts), no exceptions. A hard hat can be provided if needed. Weather and trail conditions can change quickly. Please watch for last minute project updates or cancellation. 4/11 Looks to be a cool morning, windy, partly cloudy, high of 51 degrees. Should be a nice day. Thanks. And I can amend this distribution list as desired.

PARKING: The parking lot behind SRD below the shop is getting crowded with the seasonal fire fighters. Please park in the front parking lot (west) and walk to the back by the FOSM shed. We will drive by the front to make sure no one is waiting there.
