Hello Everyone,
On Wednesday, June 5, 2019, Dan Benton, Jerry Carroll, Byron Garner, and I bucked and hauled two pickup loads of green ponderosa pine wood from the top of a 34-inch diameter tree that had broken during one of the recent heavy wind events at the ski area overflow parking lot. Wood haulers had taken a few pieces of the large branches, but home owners do not usually cut and haul such large heavy rounds.
Jerry and Dan bucked the trunk with the FOSM Stihl Model MS 460 chain saw with a 32-inch bar and the SRD Model MS 660 with a 36-inch bar. The one cord of wood was piled near the hazmat building behind the ranger station. After it dries, the Mountain Christian Church Wood Ministry will collect, split, and donate it to needy East Mountain families.
Project photos are presented in the attached Word document.
