Hello Everyone,

On Wednesday, June 12, five FOSM volunteers began thinning on the west side of the FOSM CFRP (Collaborative Forest Restoration Project) area south of the old fence and just east of a single-track recreation trail. The project area is several miles south of the ranger station and south of Forest Road 242 (Juan Tomas Road).

The objective of the FOSM project is meadow restoration by felling pinon and one-seed junipers less than 13 inches in diameter. The branches are scattered, and the trunks and large branches are piled so they may be collected as part of Eagle Scout projects or collected by homeowners with permits.

Approximately 3/4 acre was thinned on Wednesday.

The volunteers were Bob Lowder, Jim Levesque, Eric Russell, Jerry Carroll, and Sam Beard.

Photos of the work are presented in the attached Word document.
