The Friends of the Sandia Mountains (FOSM) led a trail crew up to continue work on the Cienega/Armijo Trails Improvement Project (CATIP). We started a little earlier at 0730 but the day warmed up very quickly.

The crew continued to push their way up trail section TC06. The upper end was completed about a year ago and we got close but the connection will have to wait until the next trail session. At the end of the session we were hot and tired and I neglected to record the length of trail completed. Next time...

The crew of thirteen volunteers were Eric Russell, Bruce Hansche, Jim Houle, Claudia Bergsohn, Roland Stumpf, Phil Cromer, Sim Cook, Jenny Blackmore, Byron Garner, Kyra Blakeman, Dustin Sandquist, and Betsy and Bob Galloway. Russell Berman, Cibola National Forest Resource Assistant - Trails, served as chaperone and brought along Paige Handley, a Forest Service biologist, to give her a taste of the weekly FOSM dirt fest.
