Hello Everyone,
On Wednesday, July 24, four FOSM volunteers completed bucking, splitting, and hauling wood from the very large fir tree that fell a few months ago and crushed a picnic table in the upper part of Cienega Picnic Area. Most of the 36-inch DBH trunk had been bucked into 12-inch lengths several weeks ago.
Photographs of the work are presented in the attached Word document. One large piece of the trunk with numerous forks was bucked into smaller pieces that could be split. All the large rounds were split into quarters so that they could be handled safely. Two pickup loads of split wood were hauled to the storage area near the hazmat building. One and one-quarter cords were processed and stored.
The volunteers were Dan Benton, Jerry Carroll, Eric Russell, and Sam Beard.
