Hello Everyone:
Yesterday, August 5, 2019, the FOSM Trails crew hiked Crest Trail 130N and Survey Trail to remove a previously reported down tree on 130N and to scout for other fallen trees and any other work that needed to be done. Crosscut saws and other hand tools
were used for this work. Besides removing the fallen tree, several previously cut trees were cut further back from the trail to provide even more clear space to pass by. By day's end a total of 5 trees, ranging in size from 5 to 20 inches in diameter were
removed or cut back.
The weather was clear, pleasantly cool in the morning with warming as noon approached. Recent rain had left all trail sections, except for a few sunny areas, quite damp with mud in some spots. There is an abundance of flowers and just about everything
appears green and healthy.
Yesterday's crew consisted of Cliff Giles, Rav Nicholson, Byron Garner, Jim Levesque, David McCreery, Bill Savage and Bob Lowder.
Please see attached Word document for photos and additional narrative. All photos by Gliff Giles and Bill Savage.
