Hello Everyone,
On Wednesday, October 16, FOSM volunteers will be working with Esther Nelson, Zone Wildlife Biologist, to complete digging holes and a ditch for installation a new wildlife rain collector/tank and drinker at the Borrow Wildlife Water Site on the Old Crest Highway about one mile up the highway from Doc Long Picnic Area. Information about this facility will be presented in a separate report of work that was done at the site on Wed., Oct. 9. Russell Berman, SRD Trails Foreman, used the skidsteer to dig holes for the collector/tank and drinker. He also started digging the 30-foot long ditch between the two components.
We will be hauling the components to the site on USFS pickups. If we do not complete the installation on Wed., we will continue working on this project on Wed., Oct. 23.
Meet at 8:00 AM at the FOSM Guard Station behind the Sandia Ranger Station. Wear long pants, long sleeve shirts, and sturdy boots with slip-resistant soles. Bring work gloves and hard hats. If you do not have a hard hat, one will be provided. Bring lunch, snacks, and drinks.
If you have questions, please email me at samgbeard@msn.com.
