Hello Everyone,
On Tuesday, October 15th, our paint crew moved to the West side of the Sandia Mtn. and concentrated our work on the La Cueva Recreational area.
First, we cleaned the parking lots by sweeping & blowing dirt off the areas to be striped by using brooms & the forest service blower. Kudos to Russ Parker for doing this very tiring job. Then we striped the almost invisible parking lot lines with 3 coats
of white paint applied with the paint carts. Each parking lot handicapped space was also done with blue paint keeping it as near to a picnic table as possible. In addition, every large trash receptacle was scraped & painted Forest Service brown. Two metal
posts in front of the large rest room were also painted FS brown.
Volunteers were Ellie & Russ Parker, Sam Beard, Rikki Barrett, Jane Harrison, and Anne Hickman.
Photos are presented in the attached Word document.
