Fuelwood Permits to be sold at the Sandia Ranger District Office

 

Albuquerque, NM, November 21, 2019 - Fuelwood permits will be on sale at the Sandia Ranger District beginning on Thursday, October 24 on a first come, first served basis.

 

A minimum purchase of $20.00 is required and allows for up to 4 cords.  Those who will use the permits must appear in person with valid photo identification.  Permits cannot be purchased for a person who is not present. 

 

The fuelwood is available on the Sandia Mountain in the 9 Mile Picnic Area along State Hwy 536.  9 Mile Picnic Area is located north of the Capulin Spring Picnic/Snow Play Area and south of the 10K Trailhead Parking Area.  The logs are stacked in piles. Permits are valid for 30 days from the date of purchase. 

 

9 Mile Picnic Area has not been maintained for recreational use.
