Hello Everyone,
On Monday, November 4, eight FOSM volunteers almost completed the steel roof installation on the Yucca site restroom in the Oak Flat Group Picnic Area.
On October 23 the volunteers had completed the installation of the steel roof on the north side of this restroom. On Monday they removed the old shingles and felt on the south side, replaced water damaged sheathing with 3/4-inch plywood, installed a steel drip edge on the eave, stapled and nailed 30-lb felt over the sheathing, and screwed 5 and 1/3 steel R-panels over the felt. Old shingles, trim, felt and plywood were gathered in tarps and taken to the Tijeras transfer station. The gable trims pieces and the roof cap will be installed later.
All these steps are illustrated in the attached Word document of photographs.
The volunteers working Monday were Dan Benton, Jerry Pekarek, Jim Levesque, Russ and Ellis Parker, Sim Cook, Sam Beard, and Eric Russell.
