As mentioned in the recent NMVFO newsletter, the US Forest Service will be putting on a 3-day CPR/AED/Blood Borne Pathogen (BBP) & Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course, November 22-24. All three days of training will be held at the Albuquerque Open Space Visitor Center, located at 6500 Coors Blvd. NW in Albuquerque. This will be a full 3 days of class plus outside hands-on exercises. Certification will be granted by the American Health and Safety Institute upon successful completion. CPR/AED/WFA certification will be valid for two years, blood borne pathogens for one.
Space is limited to 20 participants, with priority given to NMVFO project leaders and active NMVFO members (participating in a least one project this season). Early registration for NMVFO members will end November 8. Any remaining seats will be opened up to other active US Forest Service volunteer partners (BCH, FOSM, etc.).
