Hello Everyone:
Yesterday, Monday, January 13, 2020 the FOSM Trails Maintenance Crew hiked Kiwanis Meadow road to the 130 junction, south on 130 to Gravel Pit, then down Rocky Point and also a short distance up the Kiwanis Meadow Trail (AKA- The Chute). No major work
was needed. Some minor pruning was done along with snow work to level the path a bit in a few areas of heavy drifting. It appears that there will be some work on Gravel Pit and Rocky Point after snwomelt, but all those trails/trail sections are safely passible.
The large fallen tree across Gravel Pit that was previously reported, is now just about completely covered in snow and can be walked over. There is also a good walk-around below the rootball at its base.
These trails remain in good shape for skis or snowshoes. The day was mostly sunny and brisk with winds inceasing over the morning. There was very light use of these trails during our hike.
Yesterday's crew consisted of Byron Garner,Jerry Pekarek, Cleve Sharp, Jim Levesque, David McCreey, Jerry Carroll and Bob Lowder.
