Hello Everyone:

Today, Monday, February 24, 2020, the FOSM Trails Maintenance Crew hiked Sulphur Canyon Trail, Faulty trail north to Bill Spring trail, down to Doc Long PA and then across the connector trail (AKA Wolf Spring trail) back to the Sulphur PA. A total of four trees were removed ranging in size from three to nine inches in diameter. These trails and trail sections are now clear.

The day was clear and sunny with increasing wind as the day progressed. Temperatures ranged from mid-thirty's to mid-forty's. Trail surface conditions varied greatly from clear but wet on some paved surfaces, to mud, slush, ice and snow which ranged in depth from a couple of inches to fairly deep drifts on shaded downhill slopes. Except for a few deeper snow drift areas, snowshoes were not required, but traction devices were.

Today's crew consisted of Byron Garner, Sim Cook, David McCreery, Cleve Sharp and Bob Lowder.
