With all the comments about CABQ allowing new developments with inadequate parking, please note that in prior EDO zoning changes, the Zero Vision crowd advocated and convinced the City to loosen parking requirements by their fanciful argument that "don't build it (parking) and they won't come (drivers)". I think the specifics relate to the distance to public transportation, without any surveys seemingly done of prospective residents to validate the premise that new folks will use the bus.

CABQ Traffic Engineering told me that they do not do simulations of where traffic might go, they just put in traffic counters for specific areas, no real "systems engineering" approach. Where increased neighborhood traffic is expected, the political "solution" is to put in traffic-calming hindrances.. Social Engineering at its finest?

<As I understand it, the proposal is for 40 residential units with 35 parking spaces. This isn't right. Developers need to go back to the drawing board and ensure there are dedicated parking spaces for every <planned resident. And City needs to enforce reasonable development.
