+ Genetic Privacy: HB 183 (sponsored by Danice Picraux) protects people
from having their genetic information used in employment.
We are back on track -- adding language to include housing, public
accommodations and credit to this bill and dropping the inappropriate
language regarding insurance.
It will be heard soon in the House Judiciary
Committee. We'll keep you posted.
# Repeal the Death Penalty (HB576, HB577, HB578) (sponsored by
Representative Gail Beam)
These bills seek to repeal the death penalty as well
as
to provide reparations,
hotlines and grief services for victims and their families
to provide family leave for
murder victims' families to testify in court
These bills will be heard Thursday afternoon, 2.10, at
2:10 in House Consumer and Public Affairs Committee and the House Labor &
Human Resources Committee.
Call your legislators at the Roundhouse:
505.986.4300 before Thursday!
*Defense of Marriage Act (HB445). We want to kill this bill that would
define marriage as solely between a man and a woman.
It includes no civil union language and is also opposed
Equality New Mexico.
PLEASE call Representatives Irvin Harrison (Gallup) and
Al Park (Albuquerque) to oppose HB 445.
We want to kill this bill in
committee (House Consumer and Public Affairs Committee)
