I agree with Laura.  I don't mind the idea of the League sticking to the 
facts as we believe based on our own research, but facts rarely impress 
great numbers of people.  This is well researched issue in the 
literature about how to win votes.  The "weepy stories" are what move 
people.  I like the idea of the League sticking to the facts as it makes 
our organization look more professional and think that is good for a 
some legislators who would like to discount the presentations by the 
League (I personally have witnessed that).  However, some people need to 
get up and tell the stories like Elizabeth Whitfield did because it 
ultimately moved a lot of people.  If you put these people together with 
the  people who think their decision is based on facts, it all adds up 
to enough votes sometimes to get a bill passed.
