Usually if one bill has passed one chamber, they will just halt action on the one that did not.
We have the same situation with the Interstate Medical Licensure Act - HB243 & SB46 - HB243 passed the House and is in Senate Judiciary, so I doubt there will be any further action on SB46

Hi Jeanne, re the 2 identical bills - yes that have to pass their respective houses. I don’t remember the procedure for merging after that. In the USCongress they have conference committees to do that.
I have very little idea what will go, but I suspect the Strategic Water Reserve will be approved. However, there are always behind-the-scenes activities.

Here are a few more updates in this last-week rush of the 60-day session:
- HB348, Water Violation Penalty, got a do-pass in Senate Conservation. Note that this bill has the same title as SB210, which is still in Senate Judiciary. Both bills are on our list. I don't know if both have to pass their respective chambers and then can be merged. How does this work?
- HB128, NMFA Local Solar Access Fund, is now on the Senate Calendar.
- SB37, Strategic Water Reserve Fund, got a do-pass in House Appropriations. Presumably it goes to the House Calendar.
Question: We now have 4 environmental priority bills on the House Calendar, and 2 on the Senate Calendar. Some of those bills have been on the Calendars for quite some time (e.g., HB32). Is there a way to know which ones will be called up for discussion and votes? Is this the time to contact those in charge to move our priority bills to the floor?
Observation: I have only seen one of those dummy bills filed this year. Very different from last year. See you this evening.
Jeanne
PS: Happy to report that the 2 PFAs bills (HB140 and HB212) are now on the Senate Calendar. I am particularly interested in these bills. The topic for CNM's April 10 educational meeting is PFAs._______________________________________________
