(CC4C) have observed “Citizenship Month” to celebrate new Americans on the
cusp of attaining their U.S. citizenship. Now in a time of increased
vigilance of those seeking to adjust status through naturalization- it is
more important than ever that we work together to ensure that immigrant
communities that are eligible for naturalization have access to trusted,
quality legal screening and support during their citizenship process.

Join us today, as we call for a national day of action encouraging eligible
immigrants to become U.S. citizens. A strong democracy is a reflection of
the power of the people who have fought for the rights and possibilities
that it guarantees. When we come together and provide safe pathways for
welcoming people into our communities, we have the power to shape our
shared future together. Today, we stand alongside immigrant communities
across the nation leading with a vision of what is possible and commit to
do our part to preserve and strengthen our multi-cultural, multi-racial
democracy.

September 17th marks the anniversary of the signing of the U.S.
Constitution. This historic document laid the foundation for our democracy,
established the Bill of Rights, guaranteeing civil liberties and freedoms,
and set forth the framework for our government through the separation of
powers and a system of checks and balances. This year, Congressional
champions for Immigrant Inclusion renew their commitment “to upholding
these rights for everybody in the United States.
Even at this time when these principles are under attack and many feel
fearful and uncertain about the future of our country, we must keep
fighting for an inclusive, safe, and free nation” Read the full statement

*Cities & Counties for Citizenship (CC4C) Celebrates Citizenship Day 2025*
*The Cities and Counties for Citizenship (CC4C) network is harnessing the
power of partnerships* with local governments and community-based
organizations to host naturalization clinics, info sessions, oath
ceremonies and join our community call to action: Naturalize NOW!
Throughout the month you will see testimonials from CC4C partners like*
Beatriz Ponce De León, Deputy Mayor of Immigrant, Migrant and Refugee
Rights Office in Chicago* on why supporting immigrants on their road to
citizenship is more important than ever.

*Critical Conversations: Citizenship and this Moment. *
This Citizenship Month, Refugee Matters explores the complex reality of
American citizenship through the voices of immigrant and refugee leaders
who have walked the path to naturalization. Our guests will share their
journeys to citizenship—from the hope and determination that carried them
to the profound moment of taking the oath. Join us as we go beyond
celebration to examine the full spectrum of what it means to carry an
American passport. Don’t miss this important conversation that is sure to
give nuanced insights and energize us as we continue our path forward.
