Hello membership,
Please see Cecilia's comment below and please respond.
Marcel
while this happened this weekend it may be of interest to let people know (in the AWC) that even those in the Hopi tribe oppose this decision of their leaders. It was also a close vote so could change if enough people choose to respond to your most recent e-mail.
your voice does count ....without it.....it will happen at this point because there is not enough opposition to it!

And this latest update below from the Save the Confluence website:
Walk to Save the Confluence Now in Hopilands
Posted on October 7, 2012 <http://savetheconfluence.com/walk-to-save-the-confluence-now-in-hopilands/> by Halne'é <http://savetheconfluence.com/author/halnee/>
<http://savetheconfluence.com/walk-to-save-the-confluence-now-in-hopilands/trekchart/> At 9 a.m., today (Sunday) after trekking most of the day on Saturday, participants in the Walk to Save the Confluence were in Old Oraibi.
UPDATE - 4:42 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 7 - After 3 hours meeting with Black Mesa Coalition members at the Hopi Cultural Center, the walkers are near Keams Canyon. Supporters gave the walkers $270 towards the effort to oppose The Escalade development at The Confluence.
Phoenix residents were scrambling to drive a supply of water up to the walkers, who expect to make it to Window Rock on Tuesday, where they will file formal protests against a proposal to build a tourist attraction that would interfere with traditional life and sacred sites at the Confluence of the Grand Canyon. The Hopi Tribal Council has passed a resolution opposing the development, known as The Escalade. Yet, leaders of the Bodaway/Gap chapter, which has oversight over the area, rescinded two prior resolutions voted upon by a majority of the residents opposing the development. The chapter leaders instead called for a re-vote that resulted in very narrow passage of a measure, 59-52, to take 420 acres away from the residents and give it to the developers.
If you want to join somewhere along the journey, help with supplies, host, etc..for now you can call 928-856-1665 or 928-255-7126.
