[Awclist] Some updates, insider info and request for help

Hello Club Membership,

 

I just wanted to pass on some info and a call for some help that
directly relates to paddle sports here in NM.

 

1)      As many of you know I am a Fluid Kayak Ambassador and I love my
Fluid Kayaks. You also know I mercilessly push these awesome boats when
teaching ext.. but It is really hard to get you in one when there are no
dealers that have them. So I have decided to get you some insider
information. It looks like 4 Corners River Sports will start carrying
them come Spring 2013 but in the mean time I have gotten permission from
the Rocky Mountain Rep to let you all contact him if you are interested
in a Fluid Kayak. He actually has a Brand New Medium Dope in stock right
now in Durango (Perfect for the ABQ Ditch this fall and winter).  Any

2)      We here at SJC are having a huge bunch of events this weekend,
so if you are looking for something fun to do check out all the attached
flyers, unfortunately there is not any water up here right now but there
is a 5k run, Reel Rock Film Fest, Family campout on campus and Climbing
Comp. Additionally  we are in desperate need of some volunteer Zombies
to chase runners during the "Zombie, Run for your Life 5K" So if you are
in F-town this weekend at 1:00 and want to get all painted up and act
like a zombie for a couple of hours we would really appreciate it.

Remember SJC often provides instructors, gear and transport for AWC
events at no charge to the club. This is a chance to give something back
while having some fun.

3)      Also, If anyone is headed up to the Glenwood Springs area any
time soon, NM ABQ Boater Scott Williams needs to have a boat he just
purchased brought back to ABQ or Santa Fe. If you are please contact him
at  bigscottone at gmail.com to work out details.

4)      And Finally, the BOD had a meeting on Monday that lasted about
3.5 hours and happily was very productive. A couple of questions came up
that we will send out to the Membership soon, but look for some great
changes happening in the months to follow, especially in regards to the
website, pool, kids at the pools and more.
