Normally we do not send out things like this but this so will not send out
youtube links often! From Celia
This is a great video. ENJOY
To all who were interested in the BBC series of Powell boat reenactment of a
Grand Canyon..as mentioned at the awc meeting.
This was sent to Betsy Butler thru Tom Martin's Rafting the Grand Canyon
(RRFW) - well worth the few minutes time..assuming you only watch it once!

I've been following this rather curious BBC series, perhaps an excellent
"how not to...". Check out this video for a dubious demonstration of double
oars. It doesn't seem to work any better today than it did the first time.
Of course, Powell lined most of the rapids, which proves to be sensible. The
single oar boat of the 3 always seems to have the best run. The double oar
boat always goes into the biggest hole, right thru the wave stack out, and
full to the gunnels afterward.

Would have to be a longer raft so the two rowers wouldn't bump each other's
oars.
