Here’s what’s forming for the upcoming Mother’s Day Races and Festival. John Seiner (Kokopelli Rafting) is again taking the lead to pull all this together. I will need help stringing gates for the slalom races. This will be Friday the 9th and finishing up Saturday morning befoe the 1:00pm event Wish I could do it sooner but there have been problems in the past with the gates being disturbed before the event if they are left up too long. Along with the Facebook page, watch the NM River Outfitters page for updates:

Hello Everyone,
Thanks to everyone who has been working on making this happen. Please spread the word and the dates of this years event throughout your organizations.
I am using this new email to handle the mothers day stuff (mothersdayriogrande at gmail.com)
I will update the http://raftnewmexico.org/ or nmroa.org website once a week as more information becomes available.
The Rio Bravo Group shelter has been reserved for the entire event (Friday through Sunday)
However, The campsites themselves will be first come first serve for camping. The BLM staff and the site host will notify the incoming and ongoing campers in advance, of the festival, in order to help dissuade anyone who would not want to be around an event such as ours.
Permit paperwork is on its way from the BLM and we should have a multi-year permit coming our way very soon.
Friday Rendezvous - Uncle Steve has been hard at work getting speakers and is putting together the program. We are working hard to get folks that will be able to speak for free or with very minimal travel expenses because of decreased funding.
Saturday and Sunday Events - We are still looking for volunteers to take the lead on the following items:
Rodeo Judge, SUP Downriver Race coordinator, Awards Ceremony MC, logo design
The entire calendar is still tentative as we are still looking for organizations to sponsor some events. TENTATIVELY....
