This is such a shame.
I'd been driving to the train station to start rides either N. towards Bernalillo, or E. up Tramway pretty regularly for the last few years. Just recently, I just couldn't take it anymore. Crossing the bridges on the way to Bernalillo, or going through that roundabout, and then E. across the narrow bridge just got to be too nerve wracking. For the last couple of months, I've been parking in the last pullout E. of the bridge on Tramway to come up the hill, and don't ride the road to Bernalillo at all.
If it weren't for our extensive system of bike paths, I doubt that I'd even own a road bike. I honestly don't know how regular road riders stand it. I'd just as soon jump off a cliff. We all know the careless people are out there, and unfortunately, it only takes one.

Exactly my thoughts. We have one witness that the "alleged"hit and runner harassed verbally and swung toward her then sped off through the round a bout at a high rate of speed just before she rode up on Barb laying in the street. Deputy says not good enough for charges if vehicle is located. What ever happened to Frontier Justice?

There were 65,000 Isuzu Rodeos sold in the US total. It would be reasonable to expect there are maybe 100 of them in the Albuquerque area. Maybe 30 of matching color. One with very specific front end damage.
What - is their schedule booked solid with shooting homeless people? They need to get off their lazy asses and do some actual police work.

FYI Barbara Rivers was riding on Saturday June 7 at about 10 am and was involved in a hit and run at the round a bout at the bottom of Tramway. She sustained major injuries including brain trauma. 2 nights in UNM ICU still in hospital and heading to in patient rehab. Vehicle described as Izuzu Rodeo blue or green no lic number. Deputies say little hope for prosecution w/o eye witness.

I have stopped in the canyon to speak with the highway patrol -- they usually have a presence in the canyon -- they have indicated that if I had a license they would look up the vehicle and visit the owner (assuming they live in east mountains) to discuss any accusations with them personally.
