[NMCycling] TOG: from an amenteur woman's perspective

Silver city, ToG, the Gila Wilderness are all deeply meaningful to me. My biggest hope is that the race not die out.
I have raced it 3 times and will probably never race it again.

But, for very different reasons. I'm simply not good enough.

I weigh 50 kilos and my FTP 180. Not good enough for a 4/5 field at ToG. Dropped from the RR just as we were going up to the mines.

I had already had the experience of "finishing" ToG two years in a row earlier. Riding by myself through the valley dropped from what was supposed to be a novice field, yeah, no thanks. Even if I had just one more racer dropped with me to play around with I would have stayed.

I'm 50 years old. If 3.6 watts/kilo is not good enough for a 4/5 field- frankly, I'm done.

Ana
