[Lwvcnmtopics] Invitation to work on educating voters - We need your help

Our job, as the League of Women Voters of Central New Mexico is to make sure
voters have a chance to learn everything they can about the people who want
to be our political leaders. That is why we are going to work hard this year
to put together an Online Voter Guide at VOTE411.org for the municipal
elections this spring, for the statewide primary elections in June and for
the general election in November. I have attached a calendar to give you a
rough idea of when we will need volunteers to work.

 

On Tuesday, Jan 4, the Voter Guide committee will hold a zoom meeting at 2
p.m. Jan 4 is also candidate filing day for mayoral and city council
candidates in Sandoval County. Some of those candidates will be elected on
March 1.

 

Over the next few weeks we need volunteers to

 

1.	Help create questions for the candidates
2.	Work with City Clerks to collect the names and contact information
of the candidates, and information about bond issues and ballot questions
3.	Create flyers and social media posts so that voters know where to
get information about their candidates
4.	Distribute those flyers throughout the county
5.	Publicize VOTE411.org

 

This is a fun and easy way to work on a voter education project for the
league. It's also a great way to meet other league members and to celebrate
what we are doing to make democracy stronger. Pleas take a few minutes to
check in with us on Jan. 4 and find out how you can get involved. We really
need you and so do the voters of New Mexico.
