Is it a coincidence that we have so many businesses on Central in Nob Hill and the prospects of the bus rapid transit? I do not think so. I have attended many meeting and spoke against it. I have written my concerns about this project. As I have said this is a solution looking for a problem.It will cost millions of Albuquerque citizens dollars and we will not have a better system than we do now. I am truly afraid that Central will become a wasteland during construction. These business scrape by and any decline in commerce can put them under. I have not met many people who favor this project except the Transportation department and our city politicians. The allure of "free" money from the Federal government has drowned out all the critical voices. Who benefits from this? I do not think it is the people who live along or frequent Central Ave. is it too late to stop this? There are so many other things we need to spend public money for.
