Enough new snow, at least 6 inches well covering the old, crusty, icy
stuff. Cloud cover most the day today will keep it good for tomorrow and
more snow predicted on Sunday.
Ellis service road wasn't plowed when leaving at 2 pm so by then, nice deep
tracks set. Had to break trail on Rocky Point, Gravel Pit and most of
Switchback so until the snowshoers hit those trails, a track is set.
Great, fluffy snow with enough grit to slow my skis down but with more
people on it packing it down, should have good glide. Bring maxi glide just
in case or if afternoon sun gets it clumping/sticking.
Crest road up to Ellis parking lot was plowed nicely by time to leave.
Parking lot was plowed before this new snow so high clearance vehicles
advised and bring shovels. A couple cars were having trouble and using
them.
Enjoy the great xc-skiing!
Terri
