[NMCCSC] Pagosa, Day 2

Anne Hickman and I were in Pagosa over the weekend and found a good place to ski close to town.  It is called Cloman Park.  The conditions were great and groomed for skate and track skiing. A class one area with good parking.  Not crowded.

Yes! Fall Creek is the pick of the hill for out-and-back, kick and glide or snowshoes. Crossed paths with Terri and Kevin; marvelous views, snow was soft enough to do some turns, beautiful sky.
Clouds moving in with some snow, they say. It has been warm up here and low elevation trails are icy. I’ll send out news of snow conditions post-storm, Tuesday!

We went back to Fall Creek and skied an out and back, probably 5-6 miles. First 1/2 mile, the trail was a bit macerated and on the trip out, the actual snow was very nice but the track was a bit icy, with better conditions in the shade. On the trip back, the snow had softened a bit, making the track less crusty. Beautiful day and beautiful skiing. For those of you coming next week, there is a bit of snow predicted, so maybe some nice conditions, but bring maxi glide, just in case!
