Ok, Monday snow did not happen. It’s been warm in Pagosa, but Pagosa Nordic
grooms a place called Colman Park out by the airport. Karen Kvam reports
they do a great job and had some Class 1 Fun this past weekend. (Coyote
Hill is another spot a little further north of town).

This being a car trip weekend, maybe some folks would want to challenge the
icy entrance to the West Fork; I found East Fork to be icy.

Fall Creek (FR 39) is an excellent Class 2 choice!

As Terri said, the gully approach to Lobo Overlook is icy and hardback. I’m
going up today to check out the approach from the Pass itself that CAIC
uses. (Skinning required on any approach to Lobo)

As Barry and others know, the forest and glades on slopes other than south
are nearly always powder. And coordinating a car drop on the highway at the
eastern side of Lobo is a great plan! (Class 3+)

For those of you that want to do some other route-finding, FR 725 is fun
skinning off toward Treasure Peak. But you have to tolerate snowmobiles
anywhere south of the highway.

Good news! Snow is forecast for the next couple of days🤞! I’ll send a new
message late tomorrow.

Think Snow!
