[NMCCSC] Report 2-22-21, Survey, Sam's 10K Connector, Crest Tr, Switchback

Today myself, Amy, Dean, and Peter skied the above route.  *All trails*
were various degrees of just under hardpack, had tree debris from winds,
tracked by many skis but not trashed by 'other'.  Today only a very few
spots of icy.  Thanks to DaveG and David D'A for info.

*Survey*- our skis could get some 'bite', trail comes downhill fast,
narrow, sometimes boggy on debris, NOT a novice trail!  Did I say 'fast'?
*Sam's 10K connector*- don't miss this!  Sam rerouted the usual 10K going
uphill to give a nice skiable incline- choose 'right' and blue diamonds and
it will take you !uphill!!
*Crest Trail*- snow was nice-ish, lots of snowdrifts, pretty.
Kickers/skins.  I was told it would not be good to come down now- *only* in
fresh snow.
*Switchback* down-  as above but trail is wonderful! as usual, snow
a little softer, lovely.
All in all, this was a wonderful day, good compadres.  Not a
'fine-technique' day but a wholeheckuvalota fun.  I would say at most one
or two days more with these conditions.  See Amy's pics...     Bet Gendron
