[NMCCSC] THE WORD on EGROUPS: // Fwd: Oak Flats

Greetings Skiers! Use of our *NMCCSkiClub Egroups* system is expressly
for imparting positive, helpful information for the benefit of our Ski Club
members! It is not spamming! Our goal is to present this positive
information, and to *not clutter up peoples' inboxes*.

With that in mind: 1. *Please keep entries short and concise*. (People
have expressed that they like my short 'pseudo-Haiku' reports.) 2. *Do not
'reply'* to the sender using Egroups unless it is important to the *whole
Club*- press '*Forward*' and put the sender's address in the '*To*' space
to 'Send'. (little hint- to *ensure that you see what you send out*, just
put your own name in BCC, you'll get it back.)

If there is a contentious response or strain, this will not be tolerated
and I will step in. We have a policy which includes the possibility of not
being able to use Egroups at all, or worse. So rein it in. Now *Facebook*-
Please realize that many people choose to not use Facebook at all, so
Egroups is important to them. When our *Ski Club Facebook* is brought back
online, soon, it can be used as before. Again, I will monitor *FB* for
inappropriateness and negativity.

Oh gosh, now let's get ready to have some fun- I'll see you on top next
week! (And at our Nov 14 meeting!- more later)
Bet Gendron
NMCCSkiClub Soc Media Chair

Was there a final decision last year about using Facebook for conditions
reports instead of email? I think a decision was made but then a bunch of
people, myself included, voiced strong support for continuing to post
conditions on email.
