Hello Everyone,
The FOSM mid-week project usually scheduled for Wednesday has been scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 19, because rain is forecast for Wednesday.
Due to the court order forbidding the felling of trees recently, we did not start thinning the pinon/juniper forest south of the ranger station earlier in the fall. This project is part of the Cedro Collaborative Forest Restoration Project (CFRP). We committed to thinning 12 acres each year for three years, and we still have several acres to thin this year.
We need chain saw operators and swampers (saw operators' assistants) who move the branches and trunks after they have been cut.
Meet at 8:00 AM (note earlier time) at the FOSM Guard Station behind the Sandia Ranger Station. Wear long pants, long sleeve shirts, and sturdy boots with slip-resistant soles. Bring work gloves and hard hats. If you do not have a hard hat, one will be provided. Bring lunch, snacks, and drinks.
If you have questions, please email me at samgbeard at msn.com.
