[Volunteers_fosm] 2020 FOSM Annual Election

Hello FOSM Members:

It has always been the practice of our organization to hold our Annual Election of Officers in conjunction with our Annual Meeting of the Membership which has been held on the first Tuesday of October each year. The Annual Meeting of the Membership is required by Article II, Section 2.2 of the Friends of the Sandia Mountains Bylaws. Due to restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, scheduling such a meeting is prohibited.

Therefore, it was the decision of the FOSM Board of Directors that the 2020 Annual Election will be conducted electronically. Thanks to the hard work of the 2020 FOSM Nominating Committee, a list of nominees for FOSM Officers, who serve for one year and FOSM Board Members who serve for two years, was forwarded to the Board. Those nominee's names appear on the attached 2020 FOSM Official Ballot.

Positions subject to election this year are those of the Officers: President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary. There are two incumbent Board Members running for re-election and five individuals running for two newly created Board positions.

Since there can be no live, in-person election this year, all voting must be completed via use of the attached FOSM Official Ballot. This can be done in one of two ways. The first is to download the attached ballot, show your vote by typing in an X in the line behind the candidate's name and then emailing the ballot to info at friendsofthesandias.org<mailto:info at friendsofthesandias.org> The second way would be to print the attached ballot, complete it by writing in an X after the candidate's names and then mailing the ballot to:

All Ballots, via email or surface mail, must be received by 5:00 pm, September 30, 2020

Only current members of the Friends of the Sandia Mountains are eligible to vote.

If there are no unforeseen problems, the election results will be announced on October 1, 2020.
