This is a Saturday project, so those of you who work during the week, this
is opportunity #6 to volunteer! Morning temps should be nice and cool up at
10,000 ft. The Sandia Nordic Ski Trails Project is a combined effort with
the two organizations. See details below, and respond directly to Jeff.
FYI, Friday and Saturday, traffic north of the Crest Road intersection on
Hwy 14 and east on Frost Road will experience delays for USA Cycling
Masters Nationals Road Race.
Here is the map:

There should be no delays accessing the Crest Road if you are coming up
from I-40, or returning to I-40.

Hi all,
Now after a couple productive earth and rock moving outings with SRD
Trails Foreman, Russel Berman at the helm of the skid steer and with Scott
and myself assisting, we now have a section needing finish work smoothing
out dirt. We have been working around the lower 10k meadow so just a very
short hike from the 10k parking lot. The monsoons have been great and today
was a bit too muddy in spots to get good traction but otherwise made for
easy to move soft dirt. We will meet at 0830 at the 10k S parking lot and
work till 1200. I will round up some tools, mostly Mcleod hoe/rakes and
picks will be the tools of choice for this session. Come out and join in
the fun as we put the finishing touches on this new section of ski trail.
Please RSVP so I know how many tools to bring and also remember to bring
the required PPE, including hardhat, gloves, protective eyewear,
boots/closed toed shoes and long pants. Let me know if you need a hardhat
also.
See you Saturday and stay tuned for updates on the weather and please
include your phone number just in case we have to make last minute changes.
Regards,
Jeff
