Good morning FOSM,
Last Thursday the FOSM trail construction crew, joined again by the TTYL/ YCC youth crew, worked on a special project to help bring the SRD closer to completing something they've been working on for a few seasons: a reroute along the 10K North which, when finished, will bypass a long section of trenched-out trail. This realignment, not far from the Osha Loop, will reconnect with the 10K itself at the Ellis Trail junction.
It'll be interesting to see what the 10KN looks like on its south end after the fire...
In the afternoon we finished right near the junction with the Ellis Trail. Forgetting about the all the up-and-down (mostly up) along the Ellis, we opted to hike out that way instead of retracing our steps along the 10K. Slightly shorter, but probably not faster - and challenging with tread-tools in hand. Luckily it was a relatively cool day.
See attached report for photos.
