[LWVNM Action] LWVNM Legislative Tracking sheet - Final

The deadline for the Governor signing is bills  past. Attached is the final
tracking sheet. *Overall a very successful session for League priorities.*

The Governor line-item vetoed much of HB547 - Omnibus Tax Bill, but left
the Child Tax Credit increase intact - a LWVNM priority

The Governor said she was concerned about the cost of the package and that
it may lead to reductions in funding for vital services if oil & gas
revenues go down - a legitimate concern.

But why did she line-item items in HB547 like the Corporate Income Tax
minimum tax. the reduction in the capital gains deduction and the increases
in alcohol and tobacco taxes. They were revenue generators. Seems she gave
into lobbyist pressure.

She also line-item vetoed all environmentally favorable tax credits..
