At the first meeting of the year, NM PRC continued with Steve Fischmann
as Chair and newly elected Joe Maestas, District 3, as Vice Chair.  Joe
replaced Valerie who termed out.  He is an Engineer and clearly has done
his homework.

An important issue today concerns service disconnects which are
embargoed by our Governor.  Importantly, NM Gas is stepping up to use
its funds to help clients who lost jobs to maintain service. An issue is
that Electric Co Ops may not have

the money to do the same.  But, the NM PRC does not regulate them.  The
NM Legislature is considering funding for that issue. In some cases,
cities such as Farmington, Taos and Socorro have municipal electrics,
but the others are rural.
