*Drop Off Household Hazardous Items For Free!*

Got old cleaning supplies, paint, oil, antifreeze, gasoline, pesticides or
old batteries lying around? Now’s the time to get rid of them. Drop off
your household hazardous items this Saturday, August 18, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00
p.m., at Balloon Fiesta Park, 5000 Balloon Fiesta Parkway NE. For a list of
items that will be accepted and items that will not be accepted at this

*Presentation on Noted Author Rudolfo Anaya This Sunday*

The Albuquerque Historical Society will present a free lecture on renowned
author Rudolfo Anaya and his influence on Albuquerque, this Sunday, August
19 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ventana Salon at the Albuquerque Museum. Mr. Anaya
is known for his books set in Albuquerque and New Mexico, and was recently
honored with the renaming of the North Valley Library in his name. To learn

*Mosquito Spraying Can Be Requested Through 311*

Even in a dry climate like Albuquerque, we can have issues with mosquitoes
in the summer. If you’re seeing an influx of them in your neighborhood and
live in either the city or the county, you can request mosquito control
spraying by calling 311. There are also things you can do to limit
mosquitoes, so learn more about controlling these pesky critters at:
