[Volunteers_fosm] Trail Work Report For Monday, October 21, 2019

Hello Everyone:

On Monday, October 21, 2019, the FOSM Trail Maintenance Crew hiked Crest Trail 130 North from the trailhead to its junction with 10K North Trail and out 10K North to it's trailhead. One fallen tree had been reported on Crest Trail 130 and two on 10K North. The Crest Trail 130 tree was on the ground but it's top was protruding into the tread. It was removed. An aspen had been reported blocking 10K North between the 130 and Survey junctions. The crew discovered that it had been removed by person or persons unknown. The other reported tree on 10K North was a hang-up which had been high enough to allow safe passage before, but now had dropped and became a hazard. It was also removed.

The day was clear and cold with a brisk breeze which was particularly noticible in open areas. The crew finished the hike by midday but even by then there was no appreciable warming.

Monday's crew consisted of Byron Garner, Jerry Pekarek, Rav Nicholson, David McCreery, Cliff Giles, Cleve Sharp, Sim Cook and Bob Lowder.
